SZARVASKÚTI LAKE

At the top of the Castle Hill, next to the Szarvaskúti Castle, there is the Szarvaskúti Lake, about 15 meters in diameter. The originally marshy area was cleared in 1924, and the lake was created, which has been a popular fishing, bathing and boating center ever since. In 2012, a bath house was built on the west coast, where those who wish can change their clothes. The northern surface of the lake is covered with reeds and sedges, and a willow grove stretches along its edge. The surrounding forests are rich in wildlife: in addition to rabbits and foxes, there are also deer, the area around the lake boasts a rich insect population, and on some summer evenings the area is loud with buzzing.
You can walk around the lake in a U shape on the T2 tourist road, except for its southern shore. The attractions of the lake tour are the Szarvaskút Castle, with the relief of Count Mustzthai on the side and the #szarvaskutvaralja photo point, the chapel of St. Lukács and the Bench of Hope. There is also the possibility of fishing, bathing and boating, the latter of which can be done in an organized form at the pier on the east coast.
