TOURINFORM PLAN APPLICATION

The purpose of establishing the tourist information and excursion center

• Informing tourists who want to visit the city of Szarvaskút-Váralja on the spot, in person, about the attractions, accommodation, dining options, transportation, etc. in the area;

• creation of a facility serving as a free rest area for tourists;

• creation of an exhibition venue and event space that is open year-round and hosts temporary exhibitions, thereby extending the season or managing the unevenness of seasonality;

• attracting more tourists to the city, thereby increasing the income and tax returns of the private sector supply units;

• creating jobs and retaining the existing workforce through the implementation of the project.

Design task

In order to meet the goals described above, a tourinform office is to be planned near Vasút tér, in the pine forest, on the 170 m² plot registered under topographical number 031 and its close surroundings (in the planning area marked on the published 1:200 site plan). The area can be considered flat, the mountain begins to rise steeply on the northern side of the tourist road. In the past, the plot was used by the Szarvaskúti Railway (SzV) as a coal and water depot, and after dieselization, with the disappearance of steam traction, the forest began to grow over the unused area. The tourist road leading to Várhegy passes by the site (see site plan), this can be moved to another location within the planning area if necessary, but pedestrian access must be ensured! The area is currently accessible by vehicle from the south via a dirt road, and parking for one car is possible. This road can be dismantled if necessary, just as the chamber on the eastern edge does not have to be kept. Outside the western border of the area (on HRSZ 005/1) there is a SzV guard house, the access to which is not guaranteed from the planning area. It is advisable to keep a distance of 1 meter from the plot boundaries along the railway tracks. If necessary, a basement level can also be built, but the building must be barrier-free.

Range of applicants

The application is an idea application. Works can be submitted to the competition freely, the range of applicants is not limited in any way.

The tender is an open design tender. There is no registration fee.

Application aids

• the site map of the designated plot No. 031 and its surroundings facing north (M = 1:200);

• Basic map of the city of Szarvaskút-Váralja oriented to the north (M = 1:1000);

• building rules for the designated plot No. 031: maximum eaves height: 5.50 m, maximum build-in capacity: 70% (amended within the authority of the local government);

• location photos and3D model based on a point cloud survey - virtual site visit.

Application material and documentation to be submitted

The application material can only be submitted in electronic form to the address szarvaskutvaralja.onkormanyzat@gmail.com.

Any architectural software can be used for planning, or the application can also be prepared by hand. An applicant may submit several plans.

Content of the application material

• completed application form;

• site plan (M = 1:500 or 1:200), ground plan(s) (M = 1:100), at least 2 typical sections and at least 3 facades (M = 1:100);

• a minimum of 2 views of the building, which contain the characteristic features of the topic of the application, size at least 1920×768 pixels.

Please do not use your own logo on the plans, and always mention the name of the office in the text of the e-mail, on the application data sheet, and in the file names, so that the evaluation committee will only come across anonymous plans.

If possible, only one e-mail should be sent about an application, which includes the entire material. It is worth combining the design documentation into one pdf.

Submission deadline: January 31, 2023.

Evaluation of the application

After the application materials are received, the material is assigned a serial number, so the evaluation committee already evaluates the anonymous plans. The applicant may not exercise the right of appeal against the decision of the evaluation committee.
